Banff - Lake Louise has an incredible variety of rock climbing. We have a climb for you if you've never climbed before, have just practiced in the gym or are an experienced rock jock looking for a partner.

Beginner and Family Rock Climbing

Never tried climbing before? Wondering what to do with the kids for the day? Come out to the "Back of the Lake" at Lake Louise, or Grassi Lakes near Canmore. Both of these areas have easy climbs to get started on and to learn a new skill.

Difficulty: Anyone can try this from children to seniors.
Season: May through September
Price: C$320, add $50 per person for each extra person.
Families of up to 4: C$400
Take 10% off for the low season (before July 1 and after Spetember 1)

Sport Climbing

Within an hour's drive of my front door there are over 1000 sport climbs. Take your pick: pull on the crisp quartzite edges at one of the most scenic crags on the world, "Back of the Lake" at Lake Louise; try the pocketed limestone overlooking the Bow Valley at Grassi Lakes; or climb one of several multi-pitch sport routes.

Difficulty: From 5.6 to 5.10 (harder routes available, contact me for rates)

Trad Climbing

More interested in the trad? We can go cragging at Back of the Lake on juggy quartzite, or climb one of the hundreds of fine multi-pitch routes available on dozens of limestone and quartzite walls and towers lining the Bow Valley from Lake Louise to Exshaw. Approaches range from a few minutes to an hour, and climbs of all grades are available.

Difficulty: From 5.4 to 5.10. (harder routes are available, contact me for rates)
