We are still working on exact dates and objectives for our ski traverses this spring. Please check back soon, we hope to firm things up by late October.

Most years I'm lucky enough to go on a ski traverse to a remote destination. Taking anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks, usually carrying our house on our back, we travel to where the clouds can go. Some of the trips I have done in the past are the Cariboos Traverse, the Juneau Icecap in Alaska, the Lillooet Traverse in the Coast Range, the Clemenceau - Columbia and the South Rockies Traverses (part of the Great Divide Traverse) and the Haute Route in the Alps (hut based). In 2009 we completed the Bugaboos - Rogers Pass traverse through the Purcell and Selkirk mountains.

5 Day Traverse, location TBA; April 2-6, 2010 (tentative)

We will be doing a shorter traverse in 2010, as well as the longer trip described below. This 5 day trip will involve camping and a classic traverse in the Rockies or the Columbia Mountains, with the exact objective still to be determined. Keep an eye on this space for updates on this trip.

This trip is for fit skiers who have done some ski touring before.

Dates: April 2-6, 2010 (tentative). 5 days.

Price: C$1400 (tentative). The price will include guiding, food, group camping and technical gear and all logistics support. It will not include helicopter flights (if required) or 5% GST tax.

Clemenceau-Columbia Traverse; April 17 - 26, 2010

The Clemenceau-Columbia Icefields traverse is one of the premier ski tours in North America. Flying into the Mount Clemenceau area, the traverse takes a high line over the Clemenceau, Chaba and Columbia Icefields via a series of high cols and never descending into the valleys below. The camps are spectacular and a variety of non-technical ski ascents are possible: Mt Clemenceau, Tusk Peak, Mt King Edward and Mt Colum bia. Space is limited on this trip due to helicopter logistics so inquire early.

This trip is for fit skiers who have done some ski touring before.

Dates: April17-26, 2010 (tentative). 10 days.

Price: TBA. The price will include guiding, food, group camping and technical gear and all logistics support. It will not include helicopter flights or 5% GST tax.
