Great Divide Ski Traverse Series
The next leg of this series traversing the roof of the Rockies is set to go for late March 2008. In 2005 we skiied from Mt Clemenceau to the Columbia Icefield, climbing three 12,000 foot peaks along the way: Mt Clemenceau, Mt Columbia and North Twin. In 2007 we extended this traverse from the Columbia Icefield, over the Lyells and Freshfields and finished on the Wapta Icefield. We managed to climb Lyell Peak on this trip.
In 2008 we plan on finishing the Great Divide series by skiing from Jasper to Clemenceau. We start in the Tonquin Valley and traverse past the Whirlpool River to the Hooker Icefield before finishing at the Clemenceau Icefield from where an ascent of Tusk Peak is planned. A food cache halfway along the trip makes packs a reasonable weight and a helicopter flight out after the Tusk climb finishes the trip off.

Tsar - Clemenceau Traverse
In late April we plan on flying into Mt Tsar, a high peak on the west side of the Rockies. From a base camp we will attempt to climb Tsar, which is mostly a snow climb with one short technical section. After this ascent a two day traverse brings us to the Clemenceau Icefield where we can climb Mt Clemenceau and Tusk Peak, both non-technical snow climbs. This trip is your chance to climb three of the highest and most remote peaks in the Rockies.
