Alpine Base Camp
Join us on our annual summer mountaineering camp July 19 - 24, 2026!
The 2026 location is Frigg Cirque in the Gold Range of the Monashee Mountains, southwest of Revelstoke, BC. Join a small group of climbers for six days of helicopter accessed mountaineering in a remote location with a comfortable base camp consisting of a kitchen tent, lounge tent, and shower. Climb moderate glacier and rock peaks with ACMG certified guides.

The Camp
Small group mountaineering at its finest! Less than 10 climbers and guides with a mountain range to themselves. Gear is flown in by helicopter.
Our base camp has a kitchen tent, a drying/lounge tent, and a shower. Climbers bring their own camping gear: tent, sleeping bag, etc. Tent rental is available. Outdoor bucket toilets complete the set-up and ensure the site is clean when we leave.
Food is catered, the guides cook with help from the group. Cold breakfasts help us get out of camp quickly for early morning alpine starts. Dinners are pre-made and only require simple preparation. Everyone pitches in with clean-up.

The Peaks
The climbing is suitable for anyone who is fit and has some previous experience with moderate snow, glacier, and rock peak ascents. Pre-trip climbing training is available if you want to brush up on your skills before the trip.

Mt Hugin
Mt Munin
East Frigg Tower
The Climbing
Approaches to the climbs will often include snow and glaciers.
The climbs themselves vary from easier 3rd and 4th class scrambles to harder fifth class climbing. Expect routes from 5.5 to 5.8 in difficulty if you are interested in some of the harder climbs.
The rock quality is generally solid gneiss, the same type of rock as the Skaha rock climbing area in Penticton.
