Mountain Guiding Rates

The following list shows our starting rates for privately booked guiding for you or your group.

  • Rates vary depending on the type of activity, the objective, location, and the size of the group.

  • Pricing applies to trips in Banff, Yoho, Kootenay and Glacier National Parks; Kananaskis Country in Alberta; and the Golden BC area.

  • Rates are in Canadian Dollars.

  • Interac or Wise bank transfer payments are preferred. Credit card payments incur an additional 3% fee.

  • Please add 5% tax to all pricing.

Skiing

  • $700/day for one person for day trips

  • $750/day for one person for overnight trips

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • Objectives taking longer than 8 hours may incur additional fees

SINGLE pitch Rock Climbing

  • $650/day for one person

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • $650 for a family (parents and kids)

  • Climbs 5.9 or harder will incur additional fees

Multi-pitch rock climbing

  • $700 for one person

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • Maximum ratio is 2 clients per 1 guide, some objectives may only be available as a 1:1 ratio

  • Climbs 5.9 or harder will incur additional fees

  • Objectives taking longer than 8 hours may incur additional fees

Alpine Rock climbing

  • $800 for one person

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • Maximum ratio is 2 clients per 1 guide, some objectives may only be available as a 1:1 ratio

  • Climbs 5.9 or harder will incur additional fees

  • Objectives taking longer than 10 hours and overnight trips may incur additional fees

Scramble Peaks

  • $750 for one person

  • $800 for one person for Mt Temple

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • For most objectives the maximum ratio is 4 clients per 1 guide

Mountaineering and Alpine Climbing

  • $800 for one person

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • Maximum ratio is 4 clients per 1 guide, many objectives will require lower ratios

  • Technically difficult climbs will incur additional fees

  • Objectives taking longer than 10 hours and overnight trips may incur additional fees

Recreational-level Training

  • $700 for one person

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • Maximum ratio is 8 clients per 1 guide

Professional-level training

  • $800 for one person

  • Add $150 for each additional person per day

  • Maximum ratio is 4 clients per 1 guide

  • Hotel or camping accommodations for trips based in zones other than the Banff/Lake Louise/Canmore/Kananaskis/Golden areas

  • Travel expenses for trips based in zones further than approximately one hour drive from Banff, Alberta or Golden, BC

  • Catering

  • Equipment rentals

  • Objectives that require smaller guide to client ratios

  • Objectives that require longer than normal days

  • Objectives that are technically and/or physically more difficult than normal
